Twitter Updates Improve Search, Discover A large batch of Twitter updates bring several new features to the social network. The official iOS and Android Twitter apps are getting improved search and more Discover features. They'll allow users to preview headlines and photos and lists popular tweets in a convenient stream. Twitter's main site is also getting an improved search that emphasizes photos and videos. [Twitter Blog]Google Play Music Enables Scan and Match in Europe Ahead of US Launch Google Play Music launched in Europe this week, and curiously got a new feature US users are still waiting for: scan and match. The feature—which compares your library against the Play Store so you don't have to upload your entire collection—isn't really advertised in the client. It also gives no indication that it's working when you start up the application—it begins automatically once you indicate where your music collection is. Travel Minutes packages will give customers an additional pool of minutes to use when roaming abroad. Packages vary depending on what countries you frequent—AT&T lists a Canada/Mexico package, a Europe package, and a Rest of World Package with three tiers each. [AT&T]Google Preps Maps App for Apple iPhones Rumor says Google has released a test version of an iOS 6 Maps app. Allegedly, the new app—which will finally have turn-by-turn navigation—has been submitted to Apple for approval. No word on when it may be released.
